Frequently asked questions

What is bankroll management (BRM) in poker?

Bankroll management is how you handle the money you devote to poker. It sets the number of buy-ins to keep for your stake so you can absorb variance without risking it all.

How many buy-ins do you need to manage your bankroll well?

It depends on your profile. The calculator generally recommends 50 to 100 buy-ins for an aggressive profile, 100 to 200 for a classic profile and 200 or more for a cautious profile.

How is your profile calculated?

You answer 6 questions about your goal, your relationship with risk, your game format, your pace of progress, your level and your personal situation. Your answers give a score that determines your profile and the recommendation.

Is my result saved?

Your answers stay in your browser. If you create a free account, your profile is synced to Poker Toolkit and you find it again in the Mental, Bankroll management section.

Is the calculator really free?

Yes. It's available with no account, no payment and no limit. You can retake the test as many times as you like.
